Below is the current list of bands that will be performing in the 2012 Busy Bird Bluegrass festival. Links for more information on each band have been made available wherever possible. Iron Horse Bluegrass (Sat & Sun)(Featured)

Anyone listening to the innovative, hard-driving instrumental licks and strong, precise harmonies of this Bluegrass Band will want to strap in to their seat and prepare to be thrilled with the ride.  The compilations produced by this extremely progressive band truly bring delights to the listening experience. These guys are uniquely gifted in arrangement and presentation of lyrics and melody.

Kithcart Family Bluegrass (Sat-Sun)

Kithcart Family Bluegrass are entertainers that like to have as much fun on stage as the do off stage. They get the crowd involved in their playfulness with each other telling jokes, and the crowd loves it. Kithcart Family Bluegrass is comprised of: Carl Kithcart on banjo; Terry Patrick on Mandolin; Derryl Lesh on dobro; and Mary Williams on Guitar.

The Grass Cutters (Fri)

5 good friends just wanting to get together and pick. The sound they put out sounds like they have been picking together for years. They are good pickers and have great harmony together. Spare Parts have been playing in the Southern Tier for about 35 years. Gene Clayton on guitar and vocal. He mixes it up with bluegrass and country. He has a great talent for writing his own music.He has several musicans who help him out.

"Tom and Maria caught up with Paul and Sam at a jam session in Ithaca, NY one fine evening, and it became readily apparent that this combo hit it off right away. The band just naturally blends songs from many musical genres into a style all their own, and they have a (really) good time while they're at it "

Dorothy Jane Siver Band (Sat)

"Dorothy Jane began playing piano at age 4, violin at age 9 and guitar, mandolin & upright bass soon followed. Currently a young teenager at 14, she has written 2 originals of her own and has added her mother (Jennifer's) original works to her set lists. Dorothy Jane's musical roots grew in 2007 when she began playing Bluegrass. Her mom and dad picked up instruments and began playing along with her and soon formed The Siver Family band. Dorothy Jane has played on many stages in her short life and is starting a solo career, branching into other genres of music (Folk, Country, Celtic & Jazz)"

The Gospel Way (Sun)

"(The Gospel Way) is a 5 piece Gospel Bluegrass Group from Central New York. Because of our love for the Lord and the music, we have partnered in the mission of sharing God's free gift through His word and song. Formed in 2003, we have played for many churches, festivals, and other types of gatherings. We believe that God has brought us together to share His Good News with those whom He puts before us "

Slewfoot (Fri-Sat)

"Slewfoot was formed in the fall of "07. A 4 piece band, focused on 3 -part harmonies, mixing bluegrass with a bit of a country twist. They enjoy taking traditional and well known tunes from all genres and giving them that driving bluegrass sound. The band consist of Jimmy Decker, guitar (Candor,NY);Gary Brown, bass (Dundee,NY);Jim Osborne, dobro (Cayuta,NY) and Stan Ink, banjo (Burdett,NY), vocal harmony, original tunes and emcee for the group."
